The price of PUMP tokens has risen sharply, and the cumulative value of the two major whale accounts has increased by approximately US$3.58 million.
With the significant increase in the single-day price of PUMP tokens, the two large wallet addresses have accumulated a total of 572.56 million PUMP tokens, with a total value of approximately US$3.58 million. At the same time, PUMP futures trading volume exceeded US$1.04 billion, 8.6 times the spot trading volume, and short positions dominated the daily liquidation losses. During a price correction, two large traders encountered forced liquidation, while a trader named "Machi Big Brother" made a profit of approximately $827,000 by closing long positions.
Whale funds are actively entering the market, with spot trading volume accounting for a significant proportion.
The soaring price of PUMP has attracted millions of dollars of whale funds. According to online data analysis platform Lookonchain, these two wallet addresses bought a total of 572.56 million PUMP tokens, worth approximately US$3.58 million.
One of the buyers, known as "netherlol," purchased 383.34 million tokens for approximately US$2.4 million, forming the majority of the acquisition. Lookonchain pointed out that this is the first time the address has made a PUMP token purchase in more than a year. On the other hand, the address "GnZqfY" withdrew 189.22 million PUMP tokens worth approximately US$1.18 million from the cryptocurrency exchange MEXC. This operation transfers a large amount of token balances onto the chain, and netherlol's purchase marks the return of new buying activity.
Taken together, these transactions represent approximately 3% of the US$121.4 million spot transaction volume reported by PUMP during the statistical period. Among them, netherlol's contribution accounts for about two-thirds of the cumulative total, and the rest is completed by GnZqfY through MEXC withdrawal.
The price trend was strong, with the market value exceeding the US$3 billion mark.
During the statistical period, the trading price of PUMP was approximately US$0.006426, an increase of approximately 17.5% in 24 hours. Another data source CoinGlass showed an increase of nearly 18%. In the past seven days, the token's price has increased by approximately 46%, outperforming the broader cryptocurrency market over the same period. In terms of long-term performance, PUMP has increased by approximately 294% in the past 90 days, and the increase since January has exceeded 235%. As prices have risen, PUMP's market value has reached about $3 billion, which also provides background for understanding the scale of the whale trade.
The derivatives market is hot, and futures trading volume far exceeds that of spot
The trading activity of the derivatives market is significantly higher than that of the spot market. During the 24 hours reported, PUMP futures trading volume exceeded US$1.04 billion, while spot trading volume was approximately US$121.39 million, with futures trading volume approximately 8.6 times that of spot. At the same time, CoinGlass data showed that the value of Open interest was close to US$672.28 million, reflecting the total value of outstanding PUMP derivative positions. This suggests that derivatives exposure exceeds five times the average daily spot trading volume of tokens.
In terms of liquidation, the amount cleared within 24 hours was approximately US$3.14 million, of which short positions accounted for approximately 78% of the total amount cleared. This means that most liquidation losses occur to traders who bet on a drop in token prices during statistical trading periods.
Large-scale trading results are divided: some people open positions and others make profits
The latest update to Lookonchain records a completely different outcome for large traders: some traders are forced to liquidate due to falling prices, while others have made considerable profits through long positions.
On October 3, Lookonchain reported that a sudden drop in PUMP prices led to the forced liquidation of two traders holding a total of 707.6 million tokens. The estimated value of these positions is approximately $3.61 million, which is almost equal to the reported whale holdings. On the other hand,"Machi Big Brother" recorded 10 profitable PUMP transactions and became another prominent participant in the recent token trading activity. According to Lookonchain's September 30 update, Machi closed its long position in PUMP and achieved a profit of approximately $827,000.
Overall, PUMP's whale holdings coincided with substantial price increases, with the derivatives market recording billion-dollar trading volume, while the results for large traders showed a polarizing trend.
