XRP is in one of the most extreme technical conditions it has been in in over 13 years. Analysts say that the next market cycle will be extremely strong.
XRP currently finds itself at one of the most extreme levels in its history. Cycle researcher and analyst Cryptollica (@Cryptollica) provided a detailed analysis, showing that XRP’s monthly RSI (Relative Strength Index) has dropped to its lowest level in 13 years, even surpassing the previous two lows set in 2017 and 2020. Currently, the RSI reading on the monthly chart is just 40.54.
Chart interpretation.
This chart shows the trend of XRP over the past year, on a monthly time frame. Three vertical orange lines indicate three historical lows for XRP’s RSI. The current point is marked as the first low, located on the right side, and labeled as “the lowest RSI level in 13 years”.
Price movements indicate that XRP is currently consolidating within a descending wedge pattern, which lies below the resistance level at the high point of 2018 (around $3). The long-term upward trend line that has supported prices since early on remains intact. Cryptollica predicts that prices will break out of this wedge pattern, with green arrows indicating potential targets of around $10 or higher.
Profitability indicators provide additional support.
In addition to the RSI indicator, Cryptollica also relies on on-chain data as supporting evidence. The Realized Profit/Loss Ratio has previously been in a loss-making zone, but it is currently trying to recover. The Relative Unrealized Profit has also dropped to levels typically associated with maximum market pressures. These figures emerge against the backdrop of prices stabilizing above long-term structural support levels.
This combination of weak momentum, exhausted profitability, and stable price structures constitutes what Cryptollica refers to as an “environment where few are interested, but asymmetry begins to reveal its attractiveness.”
A cyclical pattern is recurring
. The importance of current RSI readings lies in their historical context. The low points seen in 2017 preceded the historic bull market for XRP at the peak of the 2018 cycle; the low points in 2020 occurred before XRP rebounded above $1.90 in 2021.
The current RSI low is even lower than the previous two, closely approaching the oversold range. Cryptollica views this sequence of lows as a cyclical pattern that repeats itself.
Cryptollica’s market outlook
predicts that XRP will become one of the “assets most capable of delivering surprises.” He reminds the community that he tracks Bitcoin, Ethereum, altcoins, on-chain data, and extreme conditions related to relative strength every week.
The recovery of the monthly RSI has already begun. Cryptollica’s main argument is that this recovery will continue, and the wedge-shaped pattern will continue to expand upwards. The target for a breakout in the chart is significantly higher than the peak reached in 2018; it could even reach double-digit levels.
