Sui's programmable offline channel achieves 40.6 million transactions per second in real-time tests that simulate high-frequency activity of AI agents

Sui's real-time stress test aimed at simulating high-frequency activity between artificial intelligence (AI) agents In its real-time stress test, the processing power of its programmable offline channel reached 40.6 million transactions per second. Sui officials said that in this real-time stress test, the transaction volume of programmable offline channels exceeded 40 million transactions per second, surpassing the previous record set in July this year.

The test, conducted at the Sui Basecamp event in Singapore on Wednesday, reached a peak throughput of 40,614,180 transactions per second (TPS), compared with a similar test conducted in July that peaked at approximately 6.1 million transactions per second.

These transactions are processed offline through the Sui tunnel. The Sui tunnel is a programmable channel that synchronizes settlement data to the Sui blockchain only when closed. During the testing period, Sui's main network launched more than 10,000 tunnels, covering a variety of activity scenarios such as payment, games and chat applications.

Sui pointed out that these tunnels are specifically designed to handle high-frequency activities, including interactions between AI agents, without the need for every transaction to be processed directly on the chain.

Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder and chief product officer of Mysten Labs, Sui's original contributor, said: "Sui is built for an era when millions of AI agents are trading every day." He added: "There is no market in the world that requires 6 million or even 40 million transactions per second, because human activity rates are nowhere near that level, but AI agents can."
