Core Points
XRP prices are supported by a broader institutional credit narrative, and technical aspects continue to focus on the $1.38 and $1.60 key positions. XRP is currently trading close to $1.34. Analyst Ali Martinez pointed out that $1.31-$1.35 is the support range,$1.38 is a confirmation signal, and $1.60 is a breakthrough target.
XRP Price: Institutional Credit Narratives and Technical Game
Jazzi Cooper, product leader at RippleX, said that using XRP as collateral for institutional credit is a "killer" application scenario, which is closely related to the proposed XRPL loan stack. However, proposals XLS-65 and XLS-66 still require validator approval to take effect, and the current design only records unsecured loans and leaves the credit evaluation process off-chain. Although Evernorth plans to use XLS-66, historical Clearpool and Cicada data are not representative of the $1.8 billion in loans that have been generated on XRPL.
Narrative upgrade: From cross-border payments to institutional credit
XRP prices are currently fluctuating around $1.34, as the institutional credit narrative encounters unresolved technological forms. Jazzi Cooper, product leader at RippleX, called using XRP as collateral for institutional credit a "killer use case." This perspective expands the asset's application scenarios from cross-border payments to lending and mortgage workflows.
Cooper made the above statement in response to discussions about institutions obtaining credit without selling XRPs. Her view is that XRP collateral can be regarded as potential working capital rather than idle treasury inventory.
However, XLS-65 and XLS-66 have not yet been activated on the XRP Ledger main network. Both amendments still require verification approval before agencies can use their native features. Currently, market attention is divided between waiting infrastructure construction and short-term price testing.
Technical analysis: Focus on the key levels of $1.38 and $1.60
XRP is currently in the support range of $1.31-$1.35, and $1.38 is regarded by analysts as the key point for breakthrough confirmation. If this resistance level is successfully exceeded,$1.60 will become the next focus of attention.
Ali Martinez pointed out that as long as XRP remains within the support range of $1.31-$1.35, prices are expected to move towards the apex of the triangle. The key confirmation signal appears at $1.38. A decisive break in this resistance level could trigger a bullish breakout, opening the door to $1.60.
Martinez identified $1.38 as the decisive resistance level. Once the price effectively breaks through this position, a triangular breakthrough pattern can be established and opens up space for the path to $1.60. Previously, the pattern reflected a conditional target rather than a confirmed upward trend.
Another weekly technical analysis set $1.55 as a larger resistance test level. Crypto Patel said that if the weekly closing price stabilizes above $1.55, it may be further exposed to $2.00 and then challenge the previous high of $3.66. If $1.55 is not recovered, market attention may return to the demand area of $0.70-$0.95.
Current status of the XRPL lending ecosystem: Expectations and realities
Ripple's lending design supports broader goals, but its existing mechanisms need to be carefully distinguished. XLS-65 defines Single Asset Vaults, which collect single assets and issue ownership shares;XLS-66 defines term loans, interest, repayment plans, fees and default treatment at the agreement level.
Current XRPL lending designs do not automate the mortgage or clearing process on-chain. Official documents describe its loans as unsecured, and credit evaluation and risk management are handled off-chain. Although institutions can construct separate mortgage agreements, XLS-66 itself does not lock in XRP to correspond to loans.
Although these two basic amendments are already available in XRPL software, they have not yet been activated on the main network. They must be supported by a super majority of the validators for two consecutive weeks to take effect. In addition, LendingProtocolV1_1 is also under development and aims to add closed treasury and cash-based accounting functions.
This means that for now, XRP prices do not have a proven main-network borrowing volume catalyst from these features.
Evernorth has publicly stated its intention to use XLS-66 as a core treasury tool. In an SEC filing, it noted that the plan was conditional and warned that approval, operations and expected yields were not guaranteed. Clearpool also marks its XRPL product as "upcoming," and its website shows that approximately $965 million in loans has been initiated on seven existing networks. These figures demonstrate its experience, but do not represent US$1.8 billion in active XRPL loans.
RLUSD provides another possible borrowing asset with a market value of nearly $2.42 billion. Clearpool's planned XRPL product specifically promotes the use of RLUSD and native credit primitives to achieve real-world benefits. The plan does not establish current XRP mortgage needs.
Posts on social media also compared the opportunity to trillions of dollars in securities lending. The S & P global report showed that the average balance in August was US$4.2 trillion, up from an earlier figure of US$3.1 trillion. But these measures do not represent a commitment to capital borrowed by XRP or XRPL.
Main-network lending data cannot link these inactive functions to XRP price trends. The adoption of XRP collateral requires participating institutions to publish eligibility rules, discount rates, custody terms and default procedures. Currently, there is no XLS-66-based fund loan vault or completed loan records on the main website.
The institutional credit narrative has not changed these levels of recognition. XRP prices remain dependent on maintaining support, breaking through resistance and attracting continued spot demand. In addition, XRPL loans still need to be approved by validators before user data indicates whether the institution has adopted the proposed infrastructure.
