Greater pressure comes from Washington. Lookonchain data shows that the U.S. government moved another 12,267 BTC items, worth $1.01 billion, from its positions. In the previous three days, 17,733 BTC (worth $1.48 billion) and 750 WBTC (a tokenized bitcoin worth $62 million) were deposited in Coinbase Prime. During the same time period, the price of Bitcoin fell by 6.9%.

Adding to the pressure is data from Arkham Intelligence showing that Bitcoin mining company MARA Holdings sold 996 BTC units worth US$81.13 million. This laid the foundation for today's cryptocurrency ETF news for major tokens.

Bitcoin ETF outflows hit the second largest decline in October

According to SoValue data, the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF recorded a net daily outflow of US$244.13 million on October 8. This was one of the largest one-day outflows in October this year. Among the 12 providers, five experienced outflows. Fidelity lost the most at $197.09 million, followed by Ark 21Shares ($20.29 million) and Bitwise ($17.71 million).

Cumulative net inflows to Bitcoin ETFs remain at US$57.09 billion. Total net assets are US$104.91 billion, accounting for 6.38% of Bitcoin's market value.

Bitcoin itself was trading at US$82,446.99, down 0.5%, with a market value of US$1.657 trillion, and a 24-hour trading volume of US$40.756 billion.

Ethereum ETF zero-inflow streak continues

Ethereum ETF has been stagnant throughout October: at a loss. SoSoValue data showed a net daily outflow of US$72.54 million. BlackRock alone lost $71.12 million. Grayscale lost $6.12 million, 21Shares lost $1.23 million, and 4 of the 11 providers experienced outflows.

Cumulative net inflows remained at US$13.32 billion, with total net assets of US$15.64 billion, accounting for approximately 5.17% of Ethereum's market value.

The trading price of Ethereum was US$2,488.82, a drop of 3.0%, with a market value of US$303.96 billion and a trading volume of US$18.447 billion.

XRP ETF bucked the market and recorded new inflows

When Bitcoin and Ethereum funds bled, the XRP ETF told a different story. SoSoValue data showed that daily net inflows were US$8.17 million, the largest single-day increase in XRP ETF in October this year. Franklin Templeton alone bore all the inflows, while the other four providers remained flat.

The cumulative net inflow of the XRP ETF is US$1.8 billion, with total net assets of US$1.56 billion, accounting for approximately 1.79% of XRP's market value.

XRP still fell 0.5% to US$1.39 intraday, with a market cap of US$88.025 billion and volume of US$3.144 billion.

Solana ETF outflow has reached four days

The Solana ETF has now seen outflows for four consecutive days. SoSoValue data shows a net daily outflow of $3.32 million. Bitwise led the decline with an outflow of $5.26 million. Morgan Stanley added $1.77 million, Invesco added $164.05 million in inflows, and the remaining nine providers remained silent.

Bitwise CEO points out a bigger shift

Wu Blockchain reported that Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley said that the spot dogcoin ETF BWOW was closed because it showed the real gap between ETF investors and cryptocurrency app traders. BWOW will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange in November 2025 and will cease trading after October 14. As of October 7, its assets under management were only US$726,000, and its trading volume in September was close to US$51,500.

With Bitcoin ETFs missing, Ethereum in outflow, and even a listed Dogcoin fund folding, today's cryptocurrency ETF news points to one thing: Every asset class tied to digital coins will face more volatility.

Expert Opinion

Market analysts point out that the large scale of Bitcoin outflows today, coupled with a 6.9% price drop related to the movement of U.S. government wallets, indicate short-term nervousness rather than a structural shift away from cryptocurrency ETFs. Franklin Templeton's stable presence in XRP inflows suggests that institutional interest remains even during the widespread sell-off period. Taken together, today's cryptocurrency ETF news reflects caution rather than collapse.

Analysts added that the closure of the Dogecoin ETF, which has less than US$1 million in assets under management, indicates weak retail demand for Memoin ETFs, rather than a warning signal for large funds such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Investors are advised to track provider-level traffic, as single counters like Fidelity and BlackRock drive most of today's outflows.
