Spot XRP ETFs recovered moderately this week, and the proportion of institutional positions continued to rise.
According to @BSCNews, U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) achieved a moderate recovery this week. Although only two days of net inflows were recorded during the trading days of the week, the overall net inflow was still attracted by US$11.31 million.
ETFs absorb the growing supply of XRP
This recovery has intensified the accelerating accumulation trend since 2026. As of the October 6 trading session, the total net assets held by the U.S. spot XRP ETF were approximately US$1.697 billion. This figure reflects that institutional investor demand has remained stable since the launch of these funds in late 2025, despite large fluctuations in weekly inflows.
From a supply perspective, the situation is equally eye-catching. Currently, these funds hold approximately 1.79% of the total XRP supply, meaning that ETFs collectively control nearly 1 in 50 existing tokens. As of October 6, these funds are estimated to hold nearly 1.13 billion XRPs.
Fund flows are not evenly distributed among different issuers. A group of five funds recorded a combined net inflow of $3.1404 million on October 6. Among them, Bitwise's XRP ETF led the lead, attracting a net inflow of US$10.5514 million; while Franklin Templeton's XRP ETF experienced an outflow of US$4.0702 million. As investors rotate between competing products, this differentiation between individual products has become a recurring pattern.
Background: Strong year for XRP ETF accumulation
This week's inflows came after a milestone period for the product category. The U.S. spot XRP ETF attracted US$110.49 million in its largest single week in 2026, a surge of 177.7% from the previous week. Franklin Templeton's cumulative net inflow of XRPZ reached $500 million, while Canary's XRPC reached $490 million.
Although fund flows are positive, price movements are not always synchronized. On October 6, the price of XRP fell from approximately $1.52 to $1.46, indicating that in addition to spot trading and broader market trends, ETF inflows are only one of many factors affecting prices. Spot XRP ETFs provide investors with exposure to exchange trading without directly holding assets, and positive overall capital inflows do not guarantee that XRP market prices will inevitably rise.
Still, the structural picture points to tightening supply. As ETFs lock in an increasing proportion of outstanding tokens, the available floating supply for spot market transactions continues to shrink. Analysts pointed out that if demand accelerates, this could become a potential price catalyst.
