U.S. spot bitcoin ETF suffers outflow
U.S. -listed spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded a net outflow of $120.2 million on Wednesday, according to data from Farside Investors. This brought cumulative divestments in the two trading days preceding the shortened holiday week to $166.8 million.
Among the outflows on Wednesday, the ARK21 Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) ranked first with an outflow of US$78 million, followed by the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust ETF (GBTC) with an outflow of US$27.2 million, and BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) with an outflow of US$19.5 million. JPMorgan's Bitcoin Trust (MSBT) was the only fund to record inflows, increasing $4.5 million.
Wednesday's outflows followed Tuesday's net outflows of $46.6 million, marking the first time in the category has seen two consecutive days of net outflows since three consecutive days of inflows ended on August 14. During the two trading days, GBCT lost $92.7 million, while ARKB and IBIT recorded net redemptions of $69.9 million and $8.8 million, respectively.
The two-day correction erased 4.4% of the approximately US$3.8 billion attracted during the strongest three-week period of 2026. Since its launch, the Bitcoin ETF has accumulated net inflows of approximately US$55 billion, while its net inflows in 2026 will be a net outflow of approximately US$1.07 billion, according to Farside Investors.
Ethereum and Solana ETFs return to capital inflows
Meanwhile, the U.S. spot Ethereum ETF attracted $34.7 million in funding on Wednesday, following a $24.3 million divestment recorded on Tuesday, giving the fund a net inflow of $10.4 million this week.
BlackRock's ETHB led Wednesday's Ethereum ETF inflows with an inflow of $22.9 million, followed by its ETHA fund with an inflow of $9.7 million. 21Shares 'TETH fund increased by $2.1 million, and the remaining Ethereum ETF reported no net flow.
The spot Solana ETF also reversed an outflow of about $700,000 on Tuesday, attracting $11.2 million in funds on Wednesday, bringing the total net inflow to $10.5 million for the two trading days. All inflows on Wednesday went into Bitwise's BSOL.
Hyperliquid ETF reported a net outflow for the second consecutive day, losing $5.3 million on Wednesday, following a $13 million outflow on Tuesday, bringing the total outflow for the week to $18.3 million.
These mixed ETF flows occurred at a time when Bitcoin prices hovered around $78,000 on Thursday, down from a level of about $79,700 when three-week inflow data were previously reported. Ethereum prices are around $2,470, while Solana fluctuates around $101, according to CoinGecko data.
