Why Ripple (XRP)? 21Shares points out four reasons investors should pay attention to

21Shares explains XRP investment logic in detail: Four pillars and core concerns

21Shares, a Swiss-based asset management company, recently released an investment analysis report on XRP. The report pointed out that the clarification of the regulatory environment, convenient access for institutional investors, the growth of the ecological practicality of XRPL (XRP Ledger) and the predictable supply of tokens constitute the core logic of looking at XRP well. However, the report also clearly identified a significant risk that continues to plague the underlying asset.

Four reasons to watch long XRP

1. Improved regulatory clarity

In view of Ripple's years-long legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the favorable results achieved over the past year, 21Shares has listed "regulatory clarity" as its top pillar. The conclusion of the August 2025 ruling eliminated what the asset management company called a major obstacle to institutional compliance. As the regulatory environment further improves in 2026, the regulatory treatment of XRP will be clearer and clearer than before under the SEC term.

2. Expansion of institutional investor access

Closely related to regulatory clarity is the second point: the expansion of institutional access. Looking back in November last year, a number of spot XRP ETFs landed on Wall Street and attracted more than US$1 billion in capital inflows within a month and a half. According to the latest report, despite the difficult market performance this year, cumulative capital inflows still hit a record high, breaking the US$1.7 billion mark.

3. Actual network usage growth

21Shares also highlighted the actual use of the network. The report shows that in the past 12 months, XRP Ledger has processed nearly $500 billion in chain value. At the same time, the market value of Ripple's stablecoin RLUSD surged from $72 million to $1.6 billion in less than two years. In addition, the scale of tokenized assets on XRPL has also increased significantly, reaching US$4 billion recently. The network continues to focus on payments, stablecoins and real-world assets (RWA) areas.

4. Infrastructure and Supply Mechanism Advantages

Cryptography commentator Vincent Van Code also commented on the 21Shares report, arguing that Ripple's broader infrastructure strengthens this investment argument. They describe this as an "out-of-the-box, end-to-end solution" that is ideal for organizations looking to adopt digital assets. Finally, the report mentions that XRP has a fixed maximum supply of 100 billion tokens, has no ongoing inflation plan, and permanently destroys a small number of tokens through transaction fees.

Key uncertainties

While the above view is bullish, 21Shares also highlights an important weakness in this argument: increased use of XRPL does not automatically mean increased demand for XRP tokens. Institutions may only hold XRP temporarily while using the network, and in some cases, barely use the token.

The key question here is whether the expansion of payments, stablecoins, and tokenized assets can ultimately translate into sustainable value capture for XRP.

For investors who firmly believe that global finance is increasingly moving up the chain, 21Shares believes that XRP provides a highly regulated and closely connected way to participate in this trend. However, the investment argument still depends on whether the adoption rate ultimately translates into actual demand for the underlying asset. As of press time, XRP was still struggling near the $1.40 resistance level.
