Experienced trader Peter Brandt conducts technical analysis of mainstream cryptocurrencies
Veteran trader Peter Brandt conducted a compelling technical assessment of major cryptoassets such as XRP, Monero (XMR), Solana (SOL) and Ethereum (ETH). Brandt noted that he saw upside potential in the XRP chart, but warned that there was huge selling pressure ahead of prices that could limit the market's gains. He mentioned that the technical forms of Monero and Solana look stronger than XRP, while also emphasizing Ethereum's long-term growth potential.
XRP target price of US$2.16: But facing significant resistance
Peter Brandt said that the XRP's weekly chart forms a "cup handle shape" and this structure may constitute a right shoulder in a head-shoulder-top shape in a wider time frame. By calculating the target level for this technical form, Brandt predicts that the price of XRP may rise to as high as $2.16. However, the experienced trader emphasized that technical forms do not always develop as expected.
Brant's biggest concern about XRP is the intensive selling above the current price. Assuming XRP is currently trading around $1.51, as prices rise, investors who previously bought at higher prices may turn to selling, which will become a significant obstacle to further market gains.
Monero shows the strongest technical form
Among the cryptocurrencies Brant analyzed, he believes Monero (XMR) has the strongest technical performance. He pointed out that the selling pressure above the Monero coin has been largely absorbed and there is less resistance ahead of the price. In the weekly chart it shares, the Monero coin shows a clear cup-handle shape, while the vicinity of $561 is an important resistance area. During the analysis period, XMR prices traded around $559, with an increase of about 4% in the past 24 hours.
Solana and Ethereum have rising potential
Solana is also one of the trading targets Brant believes has advantages over XRP. He described the handle shapes in the SOL chart as being at "different levels." According to Brant's observation, Solana's weekly chart shows a clearer technical structure and does not experience the same level of upper supply pressure as XRP.
On Ethereum, Brandt pointed out that there is currently a significant price consolidation range, but there is no strong upward selling pressure as XRP. In previous analysis, he had predicted that if ETH successfully exceeded the US$5,000 mark, levels above US$8,600 may become a new focus in the long run.
Summary
Brandt's latest analysis specifically points out that Monero and Solana have strong technical structures. Although XRP has set a target price of US$2.16 and shown potential for growth, the intensive selling pressure it faces poses a significant risk. In contrast, Monero is the most popular target in Brant's analysis, while Solana stands out for its clearer technical form. For Ethereum, breaking the $5,000 mark will strongly support its long-term rising narrative. As a result, XMR, SOL and ETH have become the altcoins that Brandt focuses on from a technical perspective.
