Veteran trader Peter Brandt sets a $2.16 target for XRP
Veteran trader Peter Brandt has announced XRP's eye-catching new price target. He pointed out that the technical pattern formed in the XRP chart suggests that prices may rise to US$2.16, with approximately 43% upside potential compared to current levels. However, the well-known trader also warned investors that there is a large supply ahead of XRP, which could create strong selling pressure. In addition, Brandt said he believes Monero, Solana and Ethereum have stronger technical graphics than XRP.
Brant explains the XRP technical analysis and the US$2.16 target in detail
Peter Brant pointed out in the weekly XRP chart released by the X platform that the current price is around US$1.51. He identified the presence of the "Cup and Handle" in the diagram and pointed out that over a broader time period, this structure may constitute the right shoulder portion of the "head and shoulder top pattern." Brandt used the "measurement target" method in technical analysis-that is, the height of the shape is mapped to the price target, and calculated that the target price for XRP is US$2.16. If this scenario is realized, it means an increase of approximately 43% compared to the benchmark of $1.51.
However, Brant emphasized that technical indicators should not be regarded as absolute results: "Goals or expectations are not sacrosanct. Charts often don't develop according to the structure we originally set, but may evolve into different forms."
The main risks faced by XRP: dense supply areas above
The main risk to XRP identified by Brandt lies in the dense supply areas above current prices. He mentioned that the right shoulder in the form appears weak and short-lived, so the complete development of the structure may take more time. Looking back at XRP's market period in 2025, prices fluctuated between US$2 and US$3.70, causing a large number of investors to hold positions in this range. When prices again approach these historical highs, investors who have bought at higher prices may choose to sell to recover their costs, putting pressure on prices to rise.
Brant's preferences: XMR, SOL and ETH are better than XRP
In the analysis, Brant compared XRP to Monero (XMR), Solana (SOL), Ethereum (ETH) and Stellar (XLM). His first choice is undoubtedly Monero (XMR). According to Brant's analysis, most of the selling pressure above the XMR chart has been absorbed, reducing technical obstacles to price advancement. For Solana, he believes its handle shape is stronger than XRP. Regarding Ethereum, although there are price-intensive areas, it does not face significant overhead supply problems like XRP. As for Stellar, although there is similar selling pressure, it is not as strong as XRP.
Brant summed up his view: "Among these options, my first choice is XMR. I don't need to know the fundamental story behind it. It doesn't matter."
Comprehensive assessment
