According to Hilton, these trends demonstrate how investors can rotate funds to specific sectors after major developments generate new interest. He speculates that if market participants focus on financial services and related cryptocurrency applications, the same dynamics will ultimately benefit XRP.
XRP's connection to financial services
Hilton describes XRP as an asset related to the financial services sector and points to Ripple's expansion in the financial services space. He singled out Evernorth as an XRP asset management company preparing to list on the Nasdaq. Hilton said this sector exposure provides XRP with another potential source of demand in addition to individual-related announcements.
Hilton also ranks XRP alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum as one of the three major cryptocurrencies, while classifying other assets such as Solana separately. He believes that even without a single specific catalyst directly targeting XRP, XRP is still likely to rise significantly as the market enters the next bull market.
References to past sharp fluctuations
To support its view, Hilton cited the historical performance of XRP. He pointed out that XRP had increased by 50%, 60% or even 70% in a few days. He also mentioned the performance during the news period surrounding the Securities and Exchange Commission's case against Ripple, when XRP rose by about 200% in six to eight days. Hilton cited this as an example of how the news cycle strongly affects XRP prices.
Hilton expects XRP to rise significantly throughout the cryptocurrency bull market. He said the development of the Ripple ecosystem may also bring additional catalysts to XRP.
Institutional capital may change market volatility
Hilton also discussed the growing role of institutional investors in the cryptocurrency market. He believes that as institutional participation increases, some extreme price fluctuations in the market may be reduced in the long run. Although he expects cryptocurrencies to behave more like traditional stocks as institutional participation increases, he believes this potential shift will take years to materialize. Currently, Hilton insists that XRP's historical price movements and its exposure to financial services provide reasons for investors to focus on major developments when new market catalysts emerge.
