NEAR prices fluctuate around $4.79, analysis of trend after rebound in September
After experiencing a strong rebound in September from approximately $1.80 to the main resistance area of $5.40-$5.60, NEAR is currently trading around $4.79, in the Consolidation range. The daily-level Relative Strength Index (RSI) has fallen back to a low in the early 60s, while shrinking trading volume suggests that current buyer engagement has weakened compared to the September breakout.
If buyers must hold on to the $4.60 support level to maintain the current consolidation pattern, once this level breaks below, the price may drop further to the moving average support area near the $4.00-$4.10 area.
The upward momentum weakens and enters a narrow range.
NEAR Protocol's upward momentum is currently stagnant around $4.79, and buyers are guarding the support level of $4.60. As trading volume and momentum weaken, NEAR's trading range narrows to between $4.60-$5.00, replacing the rapid upward trend that dominated the second half of September.
During September, the coin price climbed from approximately $1.80 to the $5.40-$5.60 region, with its value nearly tripling at its peak. Daily chart analysis showed repeated selling pressure near these highs, accompanied by large intraday reversals with long upper shadow lines. Sellers repeatedly rejected attempts by prices to break through the zone, interrupting the previous upward sequence of "higher highs and higher lows."
Subsequently, price volatility narrowed, keeping NEAR below recent highs, but retaining most of the gains in September. At the same time, the daily relative strength index has fallen back from the overbought threshold above 70 to the early 60s. Although the indicator is still above 50, its decline reflects a weakening of upward momentum compared to the strongest periods of gains.
Trading volume also moderated during the consolidation period, which contrasts with the previous period of active trading that increased from approximately $2.50 to $4.50. Recent trading days have shown fewer buyer participation, causing NEAR to lose the volume and energy advantage that supported its early breakthroughs.
$4.60 support determines the next resistance test
The support area between $4.60 and $4.70 is a key area for buyers to defend within the current trading range. Holding this area will maintain a high price base and support another attempt to recover the $5.00 mark.
Above $5.00, resistance remains between $5.40 and $5.60, an area where sellers have repeatedly prevented price increases in previous rallies. A breakthrough in this area would establish another local high and restore the upward structure seen in September.
Conversely, a break below $4.60 will weaken the basis of consolidation and increase the probability of a deep pullback to lower support levels. The short-term moving average is approaching $4.00-$4.10, which identifies the next potential area of support below the current trading range.
NEAR's broader recovery remains intact, but weak momentum and volume interrupted its rapid rise. Defending $4.60 is critical to maintaining a consolidation pattern and preparing for challenging the resistance zone again.
