Binance adjusts its Brazilian business due to compliance requirements: Limiting 8 products and removing 22 tokens from October 27
In order to comply with the regulations of the Central Bank of Brazil, Binance will implement a local operation reorganization for Brazilian users starting October 27. This adjustment will limit eight products and services and remove 22 tokens. At the same time, Brazilian users 'Reyal transactions will be transferred to local authorized payment accounts, and new reporting requirements for international cryptographic asset transfers will officially take effect on November 1.
Product Restrictions and Token Removal Arrangements
Binance Brasil announced on October 8 that as of October 29, Brazilian customers will have separate payment accounts under the name "Binance Brasil Correta de Câmbio e Valores Mobiliários SA". Virtual asset services will be provided by another company owned by Binance Group,"BBrasil Sociedade Prestadora de Serviços de Ativos Virtuais Ltda." Provide.
Starting from October 27, the following eight services will be restricted:
- Loans
- Binance Pool
- Cloud Mining
- Leverage trading (Margin)
- Launchpool
- Megadrop
- HODLer Airdrop
- Alpha 2.0
Users who hold positions in the above affected products can usually close or reduce positions and transfer the remaining balance to a spot account, but cannot open new positions.
In addition, Binance also lists 22 tokens that will be removed in Brazil:
XVG, USDE, USTC, DCR, DUSK, PIVX, BB, MANTRA, ONE, GMT, TFuEL, ZIL, ONT, RVN, ACX, HIT, PYR, VANRY, VIC, ICX, SCRT and STORJ.
Trading functions for these tokens will be retained until October 27. After that, the holder can withdraw the funds or reinvest the remaining balance. The exchange added that bStocks will continue to remain restricted.
Account migration and compliance details
This change does not require customers to perform repeated authentication, but users may be required to update their registration information if they are outdated. In addition, the recharge address of encrypted assets remains unchanged, and the transaction history before and after migration can be queried.
Contract users face a separate choice: Customers who already have an international account with the Binance Abu Dhabi entity can choose to transfer existing contract positions to that account. Otherwise, these positions will switch to "lightening-only mode" in the Brazilian account. Binance also reminded that crypto derivatives traded through overseas entities are not regulated by the Central Bank of Brazil or the Securities Regulatory Commission (CVM).
Another change to the new rules on international transfers
will be implemented on November 1. Binance explained in its FAQ on October 2 that if users send or receive cryptographic assets overseas, they must provide the purpose of the transfer and confirm the details of the other party. Binance will report this information to the Central Bank of Brazil on a monthly basis, and withdrawals will not be possible until the required details are submitted; debit transfers may be pending.
