Core Insights

As Zcash (ZEC) rose about 20% in 24 hours, its price forecast became the focus of the market. ZEC briefly touched $1,046, extending its 30-day gain to 94%. Zcash ranks among the top ten cryptocurrencies with a market value of US$16.96 billion. The value of open interest reached US$2.3 billion, while short liquidations totaled approximately US$34.5 million.

Zcash Price Trend Analysis

Zcash's price forecast is mainly focused on whether ZEC can hold the US$1,000 mark after a sharp rise in 24 hours. According to Binance's market data, ZEC started from $933.53, exceeded $1,023, and then hit an intraday high of $1,046.30. Since then, due to the impact of profit-taking, ZEC prices have corrected. At the same time, its market value of US$17.05 billion places it tenth in crypto assets.

Currently, Zcash's price forecast focuses on a pullback from a high of $1,046.30. The correction followed a sharp rise during the day and showed profit pressure above $1,000. Despite this, this integer mark has now become the primary support area. If it falls below $1,000, the next support level is at $980. A deeper retracement will put the $933 - 940 area (near intraday lows) in the spotlight. On the upside side, buyers must first recover $1,020 before retesting the $1,046 high.

Broader performance data shows that Zcash has gained about 94% in the past 30 days. In addition, the token has increased by more than 2,300% in the past year. The average daily trading volume reached US$1.33 billion, and the market value was US$17.05 billion.

Grayscale ETF reshapes Zcash price expectations

The rally began when Grayscale launched its first exchange-traded fund (ETF) offering direct exposure to Zcash. The asset manager listed the Grayscale Zcash ETF under the symbol "ZCSH" on the Arca section of the New York Stock Exchange. Notably, Grayscale converted its existing Zcash trust product into a new exchange-traded fund.

There is a 2.5% management fee for this product. According to a Grayscale spokesperson, revenue generated from the fee will be fed back to the Zcash ecosystem to support the network and its broader development. The release connects Zcash's price forecast to its privacy protection priorities. Zcash was launched in 2016 and is known for its privacy features. In addition, Steve Vanourny, head of the Grayscale Index, linked financial privacy needs to the growing array of artificial intelligence surveillance.

Vanourny said that as artificial intelligence changes the way financial surveillance is conducted, Grayscale expects the need for financial privacy to grow. He also positioned ZCSH as an investment vehicle that provides exposure to privacy-conscious assets. Analyst Rain also sees the ETF launch as a fundamental catalyst to drive prices higher. In addition, Rain cited improvements that significantly speed up private Zcash transactions. His analysis then turned to judging whether the rally was driven by leverage or sustained demand.

ZEC short squeeze drives derivatives activity

Derivatives data adds another dimension to Zcash's price forecasts. The number of open futures contracts has reached approximately 2.3 million ZECs, worth nearly US$2.3 billion. Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, traders cleared approximately $36.6 million in leveraged ZEC positions. Among them, short positions accounted for approximately US$34.5 million of the total liquidation.

Rain explained that short clearing would accelerate the rise in ZEC prices because affected traders would have to buy back the tokens. He described the latest derivatives totals as extreme and questioned whether momentum would last after the squeeze ended.

The position of early Bitcoin adopter Garrett Jin demonstrates the pressure of this rally. He holds 32,760 short positions in Zcash worth approximately US$32.9 million. His average admission price is $444, while current prices are reported to be close to $1,004. As a result, Jin faced an unrealized loss of approximately US$18.36 million on ZEC short positions. His clearing price is $2,609.80. At the same time, his 1,330 BTC long positions had unrealized profits of approximately $5.15 million. Taken together, these two positions left his total unrealized result of minus $13.21 million.

Market observer Taiki Maeda also commented on ZEC's rapid breakthrough of the US$1,000 mark. He said ZEC quickly cleared the level and expected the rally to continue. In addition, Maeda pointed out that among liquid fund managers and crypto participants, Zcash is held low.

His comparisons show that ZEC's holdings are lower than exposure to consensus areas, including perpetual decentralized exchanges and memes. This positioning supports his view that the rally has entered a phase of continued suspicion.
