Ondo is bringing Wall Street assets to European blockchain

Ondo Finance deepens its presence in Europe, allowing compliant investors to directly invest in tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs online.

Ondo Finance is further expanding its business presence in Europe, providing qualified mainland European investors with direct access to tokenized U.S. stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) through the blockchain network. The expansion marks an important step in efforts to bring traditional Wall Street assets into public blockchain infrastructure.

Assetera assumes regulatory responsibilities

The issuance is handled by Assetera, a regulated trading platform based in Austria. The platform allows partners to provide tokenized financial products such as stocks and ETFs without applying for an independent MiFID license. Assetera holds MiFID II (EU Markets in Financial Instruments Directive Phase 2) and VASP (Virtual Asset Service Provider) licenses and is continuing to upgrade to meet MiCA (Cryptographic Asset Markets Regulation) standards.

By managing the entire issuance, distribution and settlement process, the platform reduces the regulatory burden faced by partners who want to offer tokenized securities in Europe. With Assetera's MiFID II-compliant platform, eligible European investors can access more than 450 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs, of which more than 100 are already online. It is expected that by the fourth quarter of 2026, the full product range will cover hundreds of U.S. stocks and ETFs.

Token operation mechanism

Each token issued through the platform represents an underlying security. Each on-chain token is fully collateralized by the underlying shares held in the library. This structure means that investors hold on-chain instruments with direct claims on real-world assets, rather than synthetics or derivatives. The product has covered 30 European Union and European Economic Area (EEA) markets.

Based on a broader European strategic mandate

This cooperation builds on Ondo Finance's broader European expansion strategy. The authorization of the Liechtenstein Financial Markets Supervisory Authority (FMA) extends to the entire European Economic Area through its passport system, allowing Ondo to serve investors in 30 European countries, providing more than 500 million potential investors with regulated exposure to the U.S. market chain.

Ondo Finance's tokenized equity platform has also achieved major milestones globally. In less than eight months, Ondo Global Markets became the first tokenized stock and ETF platform to exceed US$1 billion in total locked value (TVL). The platform accounts for more than 70% of the market share among tokenized stock issuers, with cumulative transaction volume exceeding US$18 billion. Currently, three major blockchains, Solana, BNB Chain and Ethereum, have been launched.

This trend reflects the growing momentum in the real-world asset (RWA) space, as tokenization platforms compete to provide non-U.S. investors with regulated chain-link access to traditional financial markets.
