Kaspa prices have once again triggered comparisons with early Bitcoin: Why do analysts think its structure is similar?
The price trend of Kaspa (KAS) has once again sparked market discussions about its similarities to early Bitcoin. The comparison stems from a chart released by analyst mikro, which superimposed Kaspa's movements with Bitcoin's cycle between 2012 and 2017.
Mikro's core point does not imply that Kaspa will completely replicate Bitcoin's one-to-one correspondence trend, but points out that the two show a surprising sense of familiarity in terms of macro structures: early user adoption, long-term undervaluation, gradual growth in network size, and possible subsequent stronger expansion phases.
Why does mikro think Kaspa is similar to early Bitcoin?
This chart compares Kaspa's structure from 2021 to 2026 with Bitcoin's cycle from 2012 to 2017. Both show early upstarts, long-term periods of volatility and consolidation, and strong trends that gradually develop late in the cycle.
mikro also pointed out the infrastructure similarities between the two. Kaspa uses a proof-of-work (PoW) mechanism like Bitcoin, but its network is specifically designed for faster block generation. He pointed out that Kaspa can currently generate 10 blocks per second, with a block time of approximately 100 milliseconds. This gives KAS a unique competitive advantage.
The core concept is to combine bitcoin-style scarcity and decentralization with faster settlement speeds.

IS $KAS ENTERING ITS BITCOIN ERA? Not one-to-one, But the structure is hard to ignore. Early adoption, A growing network. A long period of being underestimated. Then the parabolic phase starts. History doesn’t repeat itself, It rhymes. And there’s one major difference: Kaspa is built for speed. 10 blocks per second already live. ~100ms block time. Same proof-of-work foundation. Very different execution. That’s what makes the comparison interesting. If a PoW network can combine Bitcoin-style scarcity and decentralization with much faster settlement, the market may eventually value it very differently from the “just another altcoin” bucket. Too early to call it the next Bitcoin. But if you’re looking for a PoW network with a chance at a Bitcoin like adoption curve, $KAS belongs on the list.— mikro (@mikroweller)October 8,
Bitcoin was in a completely different market environment between 2012 and 2017: the cryptocurrency sector was smaller, less competitive, and had a unique first-mover advantage. Although Kaspa has a strong technology story, especially in terms of proof of work and speed, its adoption rate still needs to keep pace with technology development.
This is the most critical point. If KAS is to follow a near-bitcoin-style adoption curve, the network will require more real-world use scenarios, deeper liquidity, greater developer activity, and broader investor demand.
This chart attracts attention because its structure does echo rhythmically. However, the next stage of development will depend more on whether Kaspa can translate its technological advantages into actual network growth.
