RLUSD Core Points
XRPL now supports the open MPP (Machine Payment Protocol) standard.
XRP is responsible for processing fees and payment sessions, while RLUSD currently only supports single payments.
XRPL MPP software is still in testing.
RippleX incorporates XRPL into the Machine Payment Protocol
RippleX integrates XRP Ledger (XRPL) into the Machine Payment Protocol (MPP) through version 1.1 of its AI Starter Kit. MPP is an open standard co-developed by Stripe and Tempo that is designed to allow software to pay for services without going through a traditional checkout process. This update makes XRPL one of the networks that can settle such payments. But this does not mean that Stripe Checkout now accepts XRP directly, nor does it mean that Stripe will process every transaction generated through this integration.
RippleX launched its original XRPL AI Starter Kit in June this year, when it supported the independent x402 payment standard. 1.1 The version retains x402 support and adds a new path that allows developers to use it without having to build a payment process specifically for XRPL.
HTTP 402 response alternative checkout page
AI agents are software that completes tasks for users. When it requests access to paid data, computing power, or online tools, an MPP-compliant service can return an HTTP 402 message containing price and payment instructions. The specific process is as follows:
- The agent requests paid resources.
- The amount returned by the service and the payment method accepted.
- Proxy wallet checks its disbursement rules and signs payment instructions.

Stripe 将 MPP 描述为一种允许代理在不创建账户、选择订阅或手动输入支付详情进行交易的方式。RippleX 表示，XRPL 上的单笔支付通常在 3 到 5 秒内结算，且费用低于 1 美分。
XRP 会话避免每次请求都产生链上交易
单次支付适合偶尔购买，但当代理为每个提示词或 API 调用付费时，效率会变得低下。对于重复性使用，该集成通过 XRPL 支付通道支持“会话”模式。
在此模式下，代理首先向通道存入 XRP，然后向提供商发送已签署的凭证，随着服务的消耗，欠费金额逐步增加。这些更新发生在链下，提供商仅在会话结束时在 XRPL 上记录最终金额。这将过程简化为两次链上交易：一次用于打开通道，另一次用于结算。提供商只能提取承诺在该通道内的 XRP，而不能从代理钱包中提取未指定的金额。
XRP 与 RLUSD 的支持程度不同
由于 RLUSD 尚不能使用支付通道，目前 RLUSD 仅支持单次支付。RippleX 列出 XRP、发行的货币和多用途代币作为支持的 MPP 单次收费资产。这允许 RLUSD 支付单个资源，并为提供商提供了一种规避 XRP 市场波动价格的美元计价替代方案。
目前的会话支付仅适用于 XRP。将支付通道扩展到发行货币和多用途代币取决于 XLS-93d（一项提议的 XRPL 修正案）。RippleX 计划支持稳定币会话，但尚未公布激活日期。
代理可在不读取私钥的情况下签名
自主支付需要控制软件可支出的范围。因此，1.1 版本增加了 XRPL 对开放钱包标准（OWS）的支持。OWS 将钱包存储在加密的本地保险库中，并通过受策略控制的签名接口授予代理访问权限。代理可以在不读取或存储原始私钥的情况下请求支付授权。
钱包所有者仍需设置支出限额、批准的资产和允许的收款人。OWS 控制代理如何访问钱包，但不决定代理的支付请求是否合理。
集成仍需证明实际需求
MPP 使得 AI 服务更容易接入 XRPL，但 XRPL 仅是该协议可能的结算路线之一。开发者可以通过同一标准支持其他网络、稳定币或传统支付方式。
RippleX 表示，早期的 x402 集成已产生了 560 万笔 XRPL 交易。然而，该公司未区分测试活动与生产活动，也未披露转移的价值或生成该总数的独立服务数量。新的 MPP 包仍处于测试阶段，公告中并未提及任何使用它的生产环境客户。最明显的采用证据将是独立服务接受 XRP 或 RLUSD、持续的支付价值以及 RLUSD 会话的最终推出。
技术路线现已可用，其重要性将取决于开发者是否在代理有多种支付方式时选择 XRPL。
