SOL Fidelity increases its holdings of bitcoin through spot ETFs, demonstrating continued interest in institutions
Fidelity, the world's leading asset manager, has purchased US$354.1 million worth of bitcoin through its spot ETF product FBTC in the past 20 trading days. The move highlights the continued interest of institutional investors in Bitcoin even as the digital asset sector faces a new round of market volatility.
Major deployments in Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana
Data from online analytics platform Arkham Intelligence shows that during the same period, Fidelity acquired a total of $438.9 million worth of Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana through its ETF products. The data shows that although demand for these three major crypto assets remains stable, the focus of institutional purchases is mainly on Bitcoin.
The company also expanded its crypto portfolio with smaller acquisitions, purchasing $66.6 million worth of Ethereum and $18.2 million of Solana. While these purchases reflect growing investor interest in alternative crypto assets, demand for Fidelity's spot Bitcoin ETF products continues to exceed its Ethereum and Solana counterparts.
Fidelity's ETF series is designed to provide investors with access to different cryptocurrencies and is backed by the security and regulation of large financial institutions.
