Polygon Labs 'open money stack supports TRON, opening up legal and stablecoin settlement channels
Polygon Labs announced that its "Open Money Stack" now officially supports the TRON network. This integration allows financial technology companies, remittance service providers and payment companies to flow funds between bank accounts and TRON based USDT through a single interface.
According to Polygon's official announcement, this expansion will allow the platform to access more than US$94 billion in USDT circulating on the TRON network. In addition, the cumulative transfer volume of the TRON network has exceeded US$30 trillion, making it one of the largest dollar-denominated stablecoin clearing networks in the world.
TRON USDT connects to the traditional banking system
The core significance of this integration is not only that Polygon has added support from another blockchain. The "Open Money Stack" integrates multiple payment infrastructure components, avoiding cumbersome independent integration between different systems. Through the platform, companies can accept funds in various forms such as bank transfers, credit cards, cash or cryptocurrency; exchange fiat currencies for USDT in the TRC-20 standard; hold assets in embedded wallets; route assets between different supported blockchains; and ultimately complete payments to users through traditional financial channels.
This structure reflects the broader flow of funds that is increasingly widely adopted by stablecoin providers: fiat enters through traditional financial infrastructure, values are transferred along the chain, and recipients can then convert them back into fiat.
Why TRON is crucial for stablecoin payments
The importance of TRON is that USDT usage scenarios on this network have long gone beyond mere cryptocurrency transactions. Low transaction costs and extensive exchange support make TRON the main network for international dollar transfers, remittances and payments.
Polygon is entering the same market from the infrastructure level. Instead of forcing companies to manage separate wallets, bridging protocols, bank connections, and blockchain integrations, the "open money stack" aims to integrate these components behind a unified interface. This reflects a larger shift in the industry: bank-issued stablecoins are increasingly competing with native crypto tokens in an attempt to become round-the-clock (7x24-hour) settlement infrastructure.
