Evernorth completes its merger with Armada and will be listed on NASDAQ under the XRPN symbol
Evernorth, a digital asset vault backed by Ripple and focused on the XRP ecosystem, has announced the completion of its merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. II. This move, confirmed in a recently filed regulatory document, marks an important step towards providing institutional exposure to XRP-related financial services.
Nasdaq debut and trading structure
The company plans to start trading on Nasdaq on Monday, October 12, under the ticker symbol "XRPN." The completed transaction unifies Evernorth, Pathfinder Digital Assets, Ripple, Armada and two merged subsidiaries. Under the agreement, Pathfinder and the previous Armada entity have become wholly owned subsidiaries of Evernorth.
Armada officially moved from the Cayman Islands to Delaware on October 8 and changed its name to Arrington Capital SPAC I Inc. This structural change streamlined operating processes and brought the company into line with U.S. regulatory expectations, paving the way for a public listing of new entities.
Capital and Treasury Strategy
A key component of the transaction involved approximately 473 million XRPs and US$300 million in cash proceeds. These resources are designed to support Evernorth's continued strategy of building a digital asset vault with XRP ledgers at its core.
Asheesh Birla, founder and CEO of Evernorth, said the company is committed to strengthening the XRP ledger ecosystem by deploying capital, providing liquidity, and supporting developers who develop institutional infrastructure. Birla anticipates Evernorth playing a key role in promoting institutional participation in XRP ledgers, which will be achieved through capital deployment and developer collaboration.
The merger marks progress in giving public market investors access to XRP-focused treasury options. However, this does not automatically generate immediate demand for XRP itself, and the trend of token prices is still closely linked to overall market sentiment.
Market Impact and Price Dynamics
Despite the company's milestone progress, XRP still faces continued price pressure. Over the past week, XRP's declines totaled about 9% to 10%. As of October 10, the token is trading in the range of $1.40 to $1.41, with prices varying by exchange.
A series of macroeconomic headwinds have affected digital assets, including rising oil prices, rising U.S. Treasury yields and a strengthening U.S. dollar. Bitcoin's decline has further exacerbated the pessimistic outlook for altcoins such as XRP and increased risk aversion across the industry.
Derivatives data also showed changes in trader positions. The latest data shows that open interest in XRP futures fell 4.6% in token terms and 8.6% in dollar terms, indicating that traders are closing their positions. In times of weak markets, liquidity-driven liquidations of long positions tend to increase downward momentum.
The contraction of open futures contracts combined with forced clearing could intensify selling during periods of volatility, amplifying the decline in the prices of XRP and other altcoins.
Technical indicators provide mixed signals. XRP continues to trade above its short-term moving average of about $1.28, with its daily relative strength index (RSI) falling back to a neutral reading after a September correction. Weakening momentum may prevent serious overbought conditions, but does not completely rule out the risk of further losses.
Maintaining support above key technology levels will be critical to XRP in the coming days. A rebound will require regaining investor demand and may require changes in the broader digital asset market environment.
Evernorth's merger and its Nasdaq debut highlight the growing efforts to promote institutional participation in the XRP ecosystem. However, the token remains closely tied to trends affecting the overall digital asset market, and derivative activity and factors are shaping its immediate direction.
